About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Asset Protection activities for assigned units in accordance with company policies and procedures to drive sales and profits
- Conduct developmental conversations with direct reports and document strengths and opportunities
- Interview, hire, and train Asset Protection talent
- Ensure Asset Protection teams follow directives, policies, and procedures
- Walk the sales floor and coach associates in the moment
- Advise Store and District Leadership Teams on development opportunities
- Identify potential theft and fraud through observation, exception reports, and investigation referrals
- Interview associates suspected of theft or fraud and document investigations
- Review and maintain Asset Protection documentation
- Communicate external theft trends and partner with locations and retailers to identify Organized Retail Crime groups and patterns
- Gather evidence on Organized Retail Crime and external fraud as directed
- Attend hearings and update files with court-related outcomes
- Build relationships with local law enforcement and mall security partners
- Review external apprehension, internal investigation, incident, PCI, PII, and Sales Audit documentation
- Tailor Asset Protection direction to assigned stores and develop methods to educate and motivate teams on shrink reduction and safety
- Coach associates on hazard-free work areas and sales floors and inventory maintenance processes
- Audit departments for merchandise protection standards
- Identify merchandise protection deviations from company standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Lead Asset Protection activities for assigned stores in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Conduct developmental conversations with direct reports and maintain notes and observations
- Interview, hire, and train Asset Protection talent
- Ensure compliance with Asset Protection directives, policies, and procedures
- Identify and investigate associate and customer theft and fraud
- Properly document investigations and maintain accurate records
- Gather evidence related to Organized Retail Crime and external fraud
- Attend hearings as required
- Establish relationships with local law enforcement and mall security partners
- Audit merchandise protection standards and identify deviations
- Coach associates on workplace and sales-floor safety and inventory maintenance processes
