About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end testing efforts across sprint cycles, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
Work with Client Services, Data, and Technology teams to understand and shape functional software requirements toward verifiability
Create comprehensive test plans and test cases from product requirements and technical specifications
Create and maintain automated regression test suites for Catalist software products
Develop and maintain test documentation
Provide feedback on software product quality to drive production releases
Identify, log, prioritize, and track bugs using project tools such as Jira
Collaborate directly with development teams toward quick bug resolutions
Adjust working schedule for occasional evenings and weekends as workload demands
Work independently and pursue thorough bug discovery
Report to the Director of Tools Support & Integrations
Work closely with Client Services, Data, and Technology teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience with test automation and quality assurance for JVM and/or web-based software products
Experience with web application testing and web-based API testing
Experience with at least one RDBMS, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
Hands-on experience developing test automation scripts for web applications, Java applications, and REST APIs
Conversant Python scripting and coding skills
Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured
Ability to write automation test code for functional testing of JVM applications
Conversant understanding of Java and JVM application architecture, including build and deployment processes
Experience testing on multiple browsers and platforms, including Chrome, Safari, and Firefox
Familiarity with validation, regression, and smoke testing lower in the application stack
Sufficient SQL knowledge to query databases directly and provision test scenarios
Demonstrated ability to organize and create test cases and test plans, show coverage, and track progress and project health
Background check required
Preferred: knowledge of AWS, GCP, Docker, columnar or NoSQL databases, cloud-based performance testing tools, modern web application architecture, React, Jenkins or Bamboo, and Red Hat/CentOS Linux platforms
