About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations using tools, parts, and technical diagrams
  • Perform on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work
  • Perform call-out services and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems
  • Use test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions, referring to schematics and manufacturers’ specifications
  • Use hand tools, gauges, and instruments to analyze, repair, or replace faulty parts under supervision
  • Utilize digital tools and systems
  • Observe and check for common causes of trouble; clean and lubricate equipment under guidance
  • Perform routine installations and make equipment adjustments under supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service
  • Proactive initiative and ability to seek out work and accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques
  • Knowledge of machines used in power plants; ability to conduct preventive maintenance and repair or replace faulty mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance in oil and gas; ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of oil and gas safety procedures, practices, considerations, and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); ability to design, implement, and operate automated process controls
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques
  • Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and physical fitness evaluation
  • Clean driving record: no moving violations within the last 12 months, no “2 point” violations within the last 3 years, and no DUIs within the last 7 years
  • Must successfully complete physical exam and obtain OGUK (offshore) certification by a Solar-approved physician
  • Must be able to obtain a legal Transportation Worker Identification Credential
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
