About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the firm’s reference expert in municipal government relations
  • Develop and maintain an active network with municipal elected officials, political offices, administrative leadership, para-municipal corporations, and partner organizations
  • Navigate the workings of municipal institutions with ease: decision-making processes, administrative structures, public consultations, bylaws, and dynamics specific to this level of government
  • Identify and seize strategic opportunities for clients through proactive monitoring of municipal news and the political agenda
  • Support clients in their dealings with municipal bodies, from strategy development to representation and follow-up
  • Advise clients in the development of strategic public affairs plans, in managing complex issues, in securing social acceptability, and in crisis management
  • Participate in the design, deployment, and management of integrated mandates combining government relations, media relations, and stakeholder mobilization
  • Create content and produce strategic documents
  • Actively contribute to new business development and the drafting of service proposals
  • Support the development and strengthening of the government relations practice within Casacom

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five to seven years of experience in communications, including more than three (3) years in a public relations firm or in political work
  • Proven expertise in municipal government relations: in-depth knowledge of institutions, legislative processes, and political actors
  • University degree in political science, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience managing large-scale public affairs, media relations, and government relations projects
  • Excellent writing skills (press releases, speeches, plans, briefs, and more)
  • Impeccable bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written)
  • Established network within political, media, and business circles, with a demonstrated ability to activate it
  • Pan-Canadian experience for varied mandates is an asset
