About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Solar Technician I will be the junior field service technician for CSS’ operations and maintenance of solar facilities.
  • Responsible for supporting senior field staff in the safe and timely completion of all service obligations.
  • Learning CSS company protocols and representing CSS in the field.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing utility scale solar generators.
  • Assist with commissioning, quality assurance inspection, or preventative maintenance work as needed.
  • Provide timely Field Service Reports back to Operations staff for delivery to clients.
  • Ensure a premium level of customer service.
  • Perform vegetative maintenance as required.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday on-call schedule.
  • Occasional overtime work and overnight travel required.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record to operate a company vehicle
  • Proficiency reading technical specification documents, site plans, & electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with tools, terminologies, and processes associated with electrical and mechanical trade work
  • Basic understanding of the principles of electrical theory and photovoltaic power generation
  • General computer, network, and technology proficiency
  • Understanding & experience in the operation and concepts relating to electrical and mechanical trade work
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented attitude
  • Values staff development and organizational excellence
  • Field experience in residential, commercial or utility scale solar PV (preferred)
  • First-Aid/CPR/AED
  • NFPA 70E
  • OSHA 10
