About the role

  • Manage medium to high complexity projects within programs and high complexity standalone projects
  • Ensure project milestone deliverables are completed and approved throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with continuous improvement of project management best practices, processes, and tools
  • Ensure project closure activities are completed
  • Lead stakeholders in refinement of project charter when applicable
  • Collaborate with business owners and IT on identification and assignment of resources
  • Develop and maintain project schedule, WBS, resource plan, and project budget when applicable
  • Capture and consolidate EPMO, IT and business estimates; forecast EPMO FTEs and contractors
  • Schedule project audits and ensure compliance to EPMO Governance audit requirements
  • Assess, manage and control project scope, schedule, and budget change impacts; implement mitigation and contingency plans
  • Escalate issues to Business Owner, Program Manager, and EPMO Leadership as applicable
  • Maintain stakeholder matrix, RAID, project SharePoint site and document repository
  • Drive cross-functional communication and develop communication and training plans
  • Mentor junior Project Managers or Program Coordinators
  • Schedule and facilitate project and stakeholder meetings; capture meeting notes, decisions and action items
  • Track, compile and report project status, metrics and budget to stakeholders at all levels
  • Produce detailed reports, business decision documents and notifications
  • Develop project operations and support plans and perform other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Project Management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams, Outlook
  • Experience working in project management software
  • Demonstrated analysis and reporting skills
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to lead project teams of 20+ core members and multiple vendors
  • Experience managing projects up to $3.5M budget
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Familiarity with project management processes, techniques and development lifecycle (ideally Agile)
  • Familiarity with healthcare payer industry and knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare a plus
