About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in determining rates and analyze, develop, and validate statistical data
Support senior staff and management with rate filings
Build knowledge of how rate filings are developed and submitted
Support completion of the company forecast
Learn the forecast process and interpret its results
Support the monthly reserve valuation process
Learn key elements and functions of the reserve process
Modify and impact analytics and processes
Build knowledge of data sources and gather data for core actuarial functions
Develop understanding of management reports and their intended functions
Participate in the Actuarial Student Program and take exams toward ASA and/or FSA credentials

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics
Minimum 1 year experience
Currently pursuing the ASA designation in the Society of Actuaries
Completion of 1–3 actuarial exams, with up to three exams noted
Analytical thinking skills
Mathematical skills
Ability to handle moderately complex issues or problems
Fundamental knowledge of actuarial principles, concepts, practices, and processes
Statistical knowledge
Detail-oriented
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Access
Ability to work over 40 hours per week
Frequently able to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and see
Occasionally able to lift or move up to 5 pounds
