About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the operation, direction, design and interpretation of complex cost allocation methodologies for Cambia and affiliated companies
- Provide analytical support for product pricing, forecasting and operating cost efficiencies
- Lead creation, analysis and reporting of financial data for pricing and monitoring major lines of business and products
- Provide allocation-results analysis for operating decisions and business-unit performance evaluation
- Develop and revise cost allocation policies, procedures and systems
- Direct preparation of regulatory reports, analyses, forecasts and operating plans
- Direct preparation and review of statistical drivers, journal entries, departmental reviews and setup
- Review operating expense allocations, reports, analyses and projections
- Work with outside auditors, consultants, regulators and customers on financial, reimbursement and accounting issues
- Train, motivate and develop staff
- Lead process-improvement analysis and recommendations using statistical data
- Drive department-wide change activities, including improvements to close, budget, forecasting and reporting
- Lead development and implementation of financial-system conversions and consolidations
- Serve as a cost-allocation subject matter expert and consult with internal and external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 8+ years of Cost Accounting experience in health care insurance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA preferred
- Knowledge and application of GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations and FEHBAR
- Progressively increasing management experience and responsibilities
- Analytical techniques, critical thinking and sound judgment
- Ability to work with complex PC and mainframe software and systems
- Ability to work with staff and management independently and in teams
- Ability to plan, organize and lead others while developing department goals and objectives
- Ability to manage, lead and develop analyst or SME teams with varying expertise and experience
- Ability to analyze complex situations, learn quickly and synthesize solutions, options and action plans
- Strategic understanding of cost allocations and alternatives in strategic scenarios
- Experience conducting complex analysis and creating and articulating technical business cases, including budgetary and short- and long-term business impacts
- Ability to identify, diagnose, influence and implement process improvements
- Experience with AI tools and technologies highly desired
- Candidates must reside within commutable distance of a listed office
- Background check required
- Wired internet connection required for work-from-home option, with minimum upload speed of 5Mb and download speed of 10Mb
