About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Program, debug, build, deploy, test and document applications in development and production environments
- Design databases and perform system testing and documentation
- Develop Lightning Web Components, Aura components, Apex classes, triggers and Visualforce pages
- Integrate Salesforce with internal and external systems using real-time or batch APIs and third-party applications
- Build and support Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve testing and production issues
- Work with senior developers and follow coding and development best practices
- Provide technical guidance to Salesforce administrators on validation rules, formula fields, data exports and basic coding questions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups and retrospectives
- Contribute to process improvement
- Develop effective program and system solutions for complex business problems
- Meet established deadlines while maintaining quality and negotiate delivery-date changes
- Collaborate with business customers, engineering teams, technical partners and external technology partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Software Development Engineer I: relevant experience in a multi-platform environment, including application development or database development
- Software Development Engineer II: at least 3 years relevant experience in a multi-platform environment
- Software Development Engineer III: at least 5 years relevant experience in a multi-platform environment
- Clear, timely verbal and written communication
- Comfortable working in remote and/or distributed team environments
- Proficiency with asynchronous communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD), including unit and behavior test creation
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, containerization technologies, orchestration tools, RESTful and/or GraphQL API design
- Software security best practices, defensive programming, OWASP Top 10, XSS, SSRF, authentication principles, security hygiene and data stewardship
- Depending on business area, experience building data pipelines
- Familiarity with core team technologies and methodologies
- Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve programming and system coordination issues
- Ability to work with minimum direction and manage own work
- Preferred: Salesforce Apex, triggers, custom objects, SOQL, Lightning Flows, Lightning Components, Visualforce
- Preferred: Salesforce security model, Git/version control, Copado, REST APIs, Agile/Scrum
