Port Engineer
CALLAN MARINE LTDPort Engineer assisting Vessel Manager with management and oversight of company equipment. Responsible for repair, maintenance, and inventory management of all assigned equipment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Vessel Manager with management and oversight of equipment
- Work with the Vessel Manager and report directly to the VP Technical Department
- Maintain inventory of equipment assigned to the dredge
- Assist with maintaining a budget for vessels
- Manage and oversee the repair and maintenance program for all equipment on site
- Keep equipment in good operating condition
- Monitor all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
- Enforce safety rules and regulations regarding equipment condition
- Help coordinate logistics for needed repairs and upgrades
- Keep and update all Class and ABS documentation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15 years of Equipment Repair and Maintenance
- Equipment management
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
- Strong trouble shooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance skills
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to travel to project locations as needed
- Reliability and motivation
- Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations
- Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations.
- Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Strong communicator, both verbal and written
- Strong mentoring skills
