About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and manage multi-tier MECM infrastructures, including CAS, Primary Sites, and Secondary Sites
- Plan and execute MECM version upgrades, site migrations, and Azure cloud-hosted deployments
- Develop and maintain application deployment, patch management, OSD, and compliance baseline functions
- Administer and optimize MECM SQL Server databases, including replication, indexing, and query performance tuning
- Integrate MECM with Intune, Entra ID, automation platforms, and other cloud services
- Implement DISA STIGs, vulnerability mitigation, and endpoint protection integration with cybersecurity teams
- Establish and maintain MECM RBAC, boundary groups, and distribution point hierarchies
- Develop PowerShell automation scripts for MECM administration and reporting
- Provide Tier III/IV support and troubleshoot enterprise endpoint management issues
- Document system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Design scalable solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
- Lead solutioning documentation and design phases
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams
- Mentor junior team members in documentation and design best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience
- At least 7 years focused on MECM (SCCM) architecture and administration
- Experience in system engineering and SDLC methodologies
- Active DoD Secret or higher clearance required
- Eligibility for IT Level II (IAT-II) certification under DoD 8570 requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in MECM hierarchy design, including CAS, Primary, and Secondary sites
- Intune co-management configuration in hybrid environments
- Expert-level proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration and PowerShell automation
- Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, PKI, and Group Policy integration
- Advanced SQL Server management and T-SQL query optimization
- Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and MECM cloud integration
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewall, proxy configuration, and MECM communication ports
- Experience applying DoD STIGs, cybersecurity controls, and compliance reporting
- Strong documentation and leadership skills
- Ability to create system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and process flows
- Experience with documentation tools and practices
- Knowledge of agile and traditional SDLC methodologies
- Desired: Microsoft Certified: Configuration Manager Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator Expert
- Desired: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Solutions Architect Expert
- Desired: Experience in DoD, federal, or large enterprise environments
- Desired: Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Zero Trust frameworks, and compliance auditing integrations
