About the role
- Join our team as a Mission Test Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of complex hardware/software systems involved in Signals Intelligence.
- Lead the test strategy for complex products, selecting the right mix of manual and automated methods to demonstrate compliance with specifications and standards.
- Design for testability and recommend product and interface characteristics that enable reliable, repeatable verification.
- Partner with systems, software, and product teams, translating customer needs into risk-based test plans, procedures, environments, and schedules that balance technical scope, cost, and timelines.
- Execute and refine the plan by instrumenting environments, analyzing results, and delivering clear readiness and risk reports to drive release and authorization decisions.
- Establish and maintain quality and evaluation processes for hardware, software, and documentation aligned to program requirements.
- Define and track quality metrics; report status, trends, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
- Identify and mitigate risks or issues related to mission software quality and testing processes.
- Create risk-based test strategies and plans, overseeing execution across unit, integration, system, and user acceptance levels.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and customer acceptance; deliver test reports and communicate results, readiness, and risks for release decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align requirements and define test strategies and validation components, including automation candidates.
- Support Government authorization processes, including test planning, control validation, evidence collection, and system definition approvals.
- Participate in Change or Configuration Change Board (CCB) and Engineering Review Board (ERB) activities, providing test impact analyses, verification plans, and readiness evidence for changes, reviews, and release decisions.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, information management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Seven (7) or more years’ operational intelligence experience, including applicable military intelligence schools and training courses.
- Experience with targeting and tool development.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating mission risks across the lifecycle.
- Experience creating and executing risk-based test strategies to validate operational effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex test results and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with workload/project management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Familiarity with the software life cycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Must be a US citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI Security clearance.
