About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls aligned with DoD/DoN guidelines, NIST frameworks, and organizational policies.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Zero Trust security strategies.
- Manage ATO compliance activities, including documentation, evidence gathering, and coordination with authorizing officials.
- Perform vulnerability management, leveraging tools such as AWS Security Hub, container scanning solutions, and other enterprise security platforms.
- Provide security expertise for containerized deployments and cloud environments to ensure secure architectures and operational practices.
- Lead or support FISMA-related audits and compliance efforts, ensuring timely remediation of findings and continuous monitoring.
- Collaborate across teams to assess risks, recommend mitigations, and drive continuous security improvements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis or engineering, with a focus on DoD/DoN environments.
- Strong understanding of DoD/DoN cybersecurity policies, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and Zero Trust principles.
- Hands-on experience with ATO compliance processes and security control implementation.
- Proficiency in vulnerability management using tools such as AWS Security Hub and container scanning technologies.
- Experience supporting FISMA audits and compliance activities.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- US Citizenship required, US Government Secret security clearance or ability to obtain clearance required.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience working with the Navy Authorizing Official (NAO) and The Office of the Navy SCA.
