About the role
- Execute manual test cases for Momentum Financials across multiple environments.
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and design documents to develop and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts.
- Validate end-to-end business processes, including core federal financial functions (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Budget Execution, Procure-to-Pay).
- Perform regression testing to ensure system stability after enhancements, defect fixes, and releases.
- Identify, document, and track defects using approved tools; work closely with developers and functional teams to support defect resolution and retesting.
- Collaborate with functional leads, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Support the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) team.
- Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with VA quality assurance standards and documentation requirements.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, templates, and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3+ years of experience in testing, with a focus on functional and regression testing
- ERP systems testing experience, preferably Momentum Financials or similar federal financial systems
- Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC), testing methodologies, and defect management processes
- Experience developing and executing test cases based on business and functional requirements
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM)
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and validate system behavior against requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data discrepancies and system issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience documenting test results and defects
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
