About the role
- Lead UX initiatives and follow established best practices as part of the SPEAR program.
- Collaborate with one other UX designer, product manager, Mission Engineers, and development teams to translate user needs into design mockups.
- Implement and maintain user interface components and interactions according to design specifications and established UI Style Guide.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility and responsiveness of web applications.
- Conduct user testing and research and gather feedback to inform design iterations and improvements, as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX design and accessibility.
- Contribute to the documentation of design and development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, or a related field.
- [5+] years of experience in UX design and 508 compliance.
- Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or Axure RP.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, user-centered design, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Experience in user research methods and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Good communication skills for presenting ideas to stakeholders, development teams and leadership.
- Willingness to work in a mission-focused government environment.
- Must have a TS/SCI clearance.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Experience building fluid/web responsive designs for user interfaces.
