About the role
- Provide Systems engineering support for T-AO 187 Class Vessels
- Provide support to shipboard engineering systems
- Work with stakeholders
- Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy
- Lead team to carry out Outyear Engineering Requirements for various class of ships including the T-AO 187 Double Hull Class
- Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment
- Author and develop design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems
- Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in-service modification
Requirements
- BSME in Marine Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience aboard a T-AO 187 Class Oiler
- Experience with government contracts and in-service ship repair and ship new construction for DOD Vessels
- Project Management skills
- Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word
- Extensive experience in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other Engineering Disciplines on a team
- Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and Project Managers
- Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements
