About the role
- Provide on-site ship availability program management (PM) and technical support to Military Sealift Command (MSC) vessels.
- Work with the Availability Management Team (AMT) to accomplish specific tasks for assigned work items.
- Assist in observing and verification and report on engineering requirements associated with the maintenance, repair and modification of the vessel.
- Provide all observations, reports and recommendations to the Principal Port Engineer (PPE).
- Provide technical services for engineering development and documentation.
Requirements
- Ability to speak/write English
- Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance
- Ability to travel CONUS/OCOUNS 2-4 months at a time
- Physical ability to walk the entirety of a ship, up and down ladder wells, and crawl into tanks
- Knowledgeable of ship construction, metal work, and auxiliary systems
