About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure solutions within the VA BI Data Estate
- Build and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines for large-scale financial and operational datasets
- Implement scalable ETL/ELT processes that support downstream BI reporting, analytics, and data science initiatives
- Collaborate with data architects, BI developers, and analysts to ensure consistent, secure, and high-quality data delivery
- Develop and maintain data models, dataflows, and metadata structures that align with the VA’s enterprise data strategy
- Apply performance tuning and query optimization techniques to improve processing efficiency in Synapse and Databricks environments
- Implement data governance, security, and access control policies in accordance with VA cybersecurity and compliance standards
- Partner with business stakeholders and system integrators to enable data integration between Momentum Financials, legacy systems, and enterprise analytics platforms
- Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting across the full data pipeline lifecycle
- Contribute to documentation of technical processes, data dictionaries, and system architecture diagrams
Requirements
