About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leads the design and implementation of a federated Marine Corps data environment leveraging the War Data Platform (WDP), Palantir Foundry, and Databricks.
- Serves as a senior technical lead responsible for architecting scalable, interoperable, and mission-focused data solutions capable of operating across distributed and contested mission environments.
- This role requires deep hands-on expertise in enterprise data engineering, platform integration, operational data workflows, and modern data architectures within complex Department of Defense ecosystems.
- Design and implement a federated Marine Corps Foundry enterprise architecture supporting distributed mission operations from tactical edge to enterprise environments.
- Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting structured and unstructured data ingestion, transformation, synchronization, and analytics.
- Engineer interoperable data workflows across WDP, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, and other DoD enterprise systems.
- Support secure data integration and operational workflows across classified, disconnected, intermittent, and low-bandwidth environments.
- Design and implement enterprise data models, ontologies, governance frameworks, and operational data workflows.
- Support real-time and near-real-time data synchronization across distributed mission environments.
- Advise government leadership on enterprise data architecture strategy, scalability, resilience, interoperability, and modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, mission owners, platform teams, and operational stakeholders to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
- Support DevSecOps, cloud-native architectures, automation, and secure software/data delivery pipelines.
- Enable AI/ML-ready data environments supporting operational analytics and future warfighting capabilities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- **TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR POSITION** - Must be able to obtain or possess a valid US Passport and be physically qualified to support military exercises and contingency operations.
- Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
- Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
- Experience writing technical solutions and commercial knowledgebase articles.
- Expert analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
- Experience supporting Marine Corps C4I systems and equipment.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in military training and education.
- Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.
- Willing to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.
