About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan and complete complex technical projects from survey and engineering through site implementation
Lead, train, assess, guide, and mentor Network Installation Technicians
Interface with customer points of contact and serve as a technical resource
Communicate project status, mitigate risks, and resolve field issues
Act as first line of communication between field installation teams and Project Managers
Recommend and assign personnel to projects with the Master Scheduler
Develop and assess field deliverables before submission to Project Managers
Help ensure production schedules are met or exceeded
Assess employee skills, provide feedback, contribute to evaluations, and support professional growth
Develop training and procedural documentation for BER testing, platform configurations, deliverables, telecom skills, Telcordia techniques, safe power procedures, site safety, and industry best practices
Train teams on site surveys and specialized platforms including Ciena 6500, RLS, Waveserver, and Cisco DWDM
Prepare complex site reports, documents, diagrams, and VISIO drawings
Provide project design support with Engineering
Provide onsite and remote technical direction for system deployment, configuration, commissioning, and testing
Monitor project issues and develop resolutions aligned with schedule, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
Conduct in-process and final job quality assurance inspections
Coordinate equipment delivery and supply issues with Logistics and outside vendors
Participate in scheduling meetings and coordinate project assignments, logistics, equipment, test sets, and travel arrangements

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years experience directly related to Ciena 6500 and/or RLS, Waverserver platforms
Previous experience leading an implementation team or teams
Active Secret clearance; or ability to obtain and maintain
Candidates may be based anywhere in the US
Must be open to at least 70% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as necessary
