About the role
- Conduct online legal research on human rights and environmental abuses
- Draft and update lawsuit profiles summarising legal information
- Support the dissemination of CLA Quarterly Update newsletter
- Participate in virtual meetings with staff and researchers
- Assist in corporate legal accountability advocacy work
Requirements
- JD students currently enrolled at Columbia University Law School
- Secure funding from the Columbia Human Rights Internship Program
- Demonstrated academic or professional experience carrying out international and/or multi-jurisdictional legal research, analysing and summarising information
- Interest in and commitment to promoting human rights, especially business and human rights
- Excellent English language skills (reading/writing/speaking)
- Fluency in another language such as French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a multicultural team and use own initiative
