About the role

  • Conduct online legal research on human rights and environmental abuses
  • Draft and update lawsuit profiles summarising legal information
  • Support the dissemination of CLA Quarterly Update newsletter
  • Participate in virtual meetings with staff and researchers
  • Assist in corporate legal accountability advocacy work

Requirements

  • JD students currently enrolled at Columbia University Law School
  • Secure funding from the Columbia Human Rights Internship Program
  • Demonstrated academic or professional experience carrying out international and/or multi-jurisdictional legal research, analysing and summarising information
  • Interest in and commitment to promoting human rights, especially business and human rights
  • Excellent English language skills (reading/writing/speaking)
  • Fluency in another language such as French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural team and use own initiative
