About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You will act, depending on need, as Lead Designer or Project Lead (PL)
  • You will manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under tight deadlines
  • You will produce high-quality mechanical building services (HVAC & plumbing) designs in design phases LP2–LP8
  • You will plan, allocate and monitor resources to ensure smooth project delivery and strong team support
  • You will independently represent Buro Happold in meetings with clients, architects and external partners
  • You will work effectively with interdisciplinary teams — including colleagues at other offices
  • You will support business development by reviewing RFPs, preparing technical content and participating in project presentations
  • You will contribute to process optimizations and drive positive change within the team
  • You will support colleagues through mentoring, delegation and technical guidance
  • You will lead or support mechanical or electrical design and ensure strong interdisciplinary coordination

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of experience in mechanical building services (HVAC & plumbing)
  • Solid experience across design phases LP2–LP8 and knowledge of interdisciplinary coordination
  • Experience in resource planning and management across multiple project teams
  • Proficiency in Revit, Linear, MagiCAD and Orca
  • A proactive, solution-oriented working style
  • Ability to drive change, improve processes and help shape team organization
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English
  • Strong understanding of interfaces between mechanical, electrical and other trades
  • Experience with commercial sector projects (advantageous but not mandatory)
