About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, deployment and operation of on-premises Kubernetes environments and automation of infrastructure processes using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools
- Development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, platform monitoring, logging and alerting, as well as network policies, service mesh and east–west traffic optimization
- Ensuring high availability, scalability and resilience of the container platform
- Integration of new services and microservices into the Kubernetes environment, troubleshooting and performance optimization in complex cluster environments
- Implementation of security measures such as RBAC, secrets management, network policies and image scanning
- Integration and operation of bare-metal storage solutions for Kubernetes, management of CSI drivers and distributed storage systems, and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters and related system components
- Close collaboration with development teams to promote DevOps practices, plus documentation, creation of runbooks/operational concepts and continuous improvement of technical standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience operating Kubernetes on-premises (not exclusively managed cloud) and familiarity with container runtimes such as Docker, containerd or CRI-O; experience with service mesh is desirable
- Hands-on experience building and running CI/CD pipelines and with monitoring & observability tooling
- Excellent Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, SLES or similar)
- Scripting and automation skills (Bash; Python or Go a plus), knowledge of virtualization technologies, high-availability and cluster design, and networking (TCP/IP, load balancing, Ingress, firewalls, DNS)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) in regulated environments, experience with storage systems in Kubernetes, and with GitOps or configuration automation
- Certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS) are a plus
- Team player with a strong sense of responsibility for operating critical systems, openness to new technologies and projects, and enthusiasm for working with open-source tools
