About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

End-to-end responsibility for designing and ensuring the reliable operation of container platforms
Design and further development of highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes clusters in an on-premises environment
Selection, evaluation, and integration of CNCF technologies for the local data center
Design of complex container networking and implementation of zero-trust concepts, NetworkPolicies, and Pod Security Standards
Establishment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform/Ansible and GitOps workflows for fully automated provisioning of clusters and workloads
Design of monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions as well as defining and monitoring SLOs/SLIs
Technical consulting for development teams during the migration of applications to the on-premises cloud

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of solid experience as a Cloud Architect, Platform Engineer, or Senior DevOps Engineer
Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes architecture (Control Plane, etcd, Kubelet)
Certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist) are a major plus
Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, virtualization, and ideally bare-metal provisioning
Strong knowledge of traditional and containerized networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, VXLAN)
Experience with block- and file-based on-premises storage
Confident handling of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O)
Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills for complex infrastructure incidents, and excellent communication skills
