About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide division leadership and direction by developing and administering programs
Manage the division budget in coordination with the Department Director
Oversee division policies, quality control, and continuous improvement of inspection standards and procedures
Ensure inspection processes, code interpretations, and enforcement actions are accurate, consistent, and compliant
Supervise a division, program, or process with accountability for operations and results
Act as liaison to other code enforcement agencies and the public at large to promote alignment and consistency in standards and enforcement.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, construction management, criminal justice, or related field
Five (5) years of experience in the building trades and/tr inspections
Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Possession of a Standard Certificates in four (4) trades from the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board
6 hours of continuing education in each trade per calendar year.
