About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist throughout the preconstruction process by leading conceptual estimating efforts to produce accurate construction cost budgets and estimates.
Focus on MEP costs and provide input to conceptualize and interpret the scope from incomplete or schematic documents.
Supervise, check work, and mentor Estimators and Estimating Engineers.
Develop and oversee conceptual estimates for assigned projects, support planning and engineering groups in the development of all levels of estimates, and collect and analyze close-out and benchmark data.
Lead major estimating efforts.
Develop and clarify estimate reports.
Cultivate strong subcontractor knowledge and relations.
Present estimating results to clients and stakeholders.
Demonstrate knowledge of all civil structure architectural trades.
Compete at conceptual and detailed levels of estimating.
Demonstrate value engineering leadership and tracking.
Drive deadlines and achieve results.
Mastery of scope review process.
Consult with architects and engineers on project parameters.
Ensure database-pricing updates are completed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related job field.
Eight (8) years of estimating experience in construction or related job field.
Capability to complete large Construction Management (CM) and General Contractor (GC) Construction Management at Risk and Design Build projects and large complex competitive bid projects.
Independent sales strengths for presentations and project pursuits.
History of successfully working relationships with the internal operation team and externally with owners, architects/engineers, and subcontractors.
Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
