About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Run day-to-day operations on construction sites
- Manage coordination of subcontractors and sequencing of work activities
- Maintain project schedule and quality control
- Enforce project safety rules for successful completion
- Ensure Christman is represented at project site daily
- Review construction documents for constructability and logistics
- Recommend construction options based on reviews
- Establish safety and conduct expectations at the site
- Create and communicate project-specific safety programs
- Address and investigate safety-related incidents promptly
- Plan site logistics and traffic patterns
- Partner with Project Manager and trade contractors on work plans
- Oversee project team's preparations through progress meetings
- Maintain final quality expectations and completeness with punch lists
- Authorize purchase requisitions and trade contractor timesheets
- Complete accurate daily reports of project progress
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum five (5) years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role as a Foreman or Superintendent
- Successful completion of classes or other training in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication
- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience
- Ability to manage and plan work activities
- Ability to recognize safety concerns while promoting a safe culture
- Strong familiarity with site requirements, tools, methods, and materials
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and quickly
- Good problem solving skills
- Understanding of risk management in relation to projects
- Understanding of job cost accounting practices
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to create positive relationships with owners, architects, and contractors
- Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office tools and BIM.
