Airport Capacity Planning Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support short-, medium-, and long-term airport capacity expansion plans, develop sizing aligned with traffic forecasts and strategic objectives
- Support capacity assessments for passengers, cargo, aircraft movements, and support infrastructure
- Coordinate and oversee simulation studies (e.g. terminal flows, airside capacity, landside access) to validate planning assumptions and identify constraints and prepare and support short term capacity improvements and mitigation plans
- Lead capacity and sizing optimization exercises for terminals, aprons, taxiways, and support facilities
- Translate traffic forecasts into infrastructure requirements and phasing strategies
- Participate in design review processes, ensuring compliance with approved planning programs, site constraints, and functional performance targets
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure planning intent is preserved throughout project development
- Support the development of airport master plans and strategic development frameworks
- Support integration of sustainability principles, including environmental impact reduction, energy efficiency, and resilient infrastructure planning
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align planning assumptions, timelines, and project priorities
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure planning approaches remain current and competitive.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aviation Management, Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in airport planning, infrastructure development, or aviation consultancy
- Demonstrated experience in capacity planning, airport master planning, large-scale infrastructure projects or complex flow public building development
- Proven track record in interpreting and applying aviation demand forecasts to infrastructure planning
- Experience working in or with international airport operators or consulting firms is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced data analysis and modeling
- Proficiency in airport planning and simulation tools (e.g., CAST, AirTOP, SIMMOD, or similar) is an advantage
- Project management capabilities, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional European languages are an asset)
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools
