About the role
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and unscheduled repairs on various semiconductor/fab equipment, focusing on MOCVD reactors, Lithography, E-Beam, Aligners, Coaters/Developers, PECVD, RIE, Polishers, Metrology and other fab support tools.
- Lead the troubleshooting and repair of complex equipment malfunctions to quickly restore tools to production-ready status and minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Develop, refine, and document standardized maintenance procedures for all assigned equipment.
- Manage equipment spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and technical support.
- Collaborate closely with Process Engineers to improve equipment stability, process control, and MTBF.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve recurring equipment failures or defects using root cause analysis methodologies (DMAIC, 8D).
- Implement equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance performance, increase throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis tools to monitor equipment health and predict potential failures.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to strict cleanroom protocols, risk assessments, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
- Participate in safety audits and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and other safety programs.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and system changes in the ISS inventory tracker.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Equipment Engineer in a high-volume semiconductor frontend manufacturing environment or experience working as an OEM field service tool support for this type of environment.
- Proven expertise in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting some of the specified tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using RCA tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, P&ID).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and must participate in ERT activities.
