About the role
- The Release Engineer is responsible for managing the software build, release, and deployment processes.
- Ensure the integrity and stability of production environments.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline and automate processes.
- Resolve issues and ensure successful software delivery, including regular software upgrades.
- Design, implement, and maintain build and deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to define release schedules and scope.
- Coordinate and execute release activities, including actual deployment to production environments.
- Plan, schedule, and execute monthly software upgrades.
- Oversee the configuration and management of development, testing, and production environments.
- Work closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the release process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for release engineering.
- Assess risks associated with releases and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Years of Experience: 12+ years
- Proven experience in release engineering, software development, or DevOps roles.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (e.g., Grafana).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
