About the role

  • The Release Engineer is responsible for managing the software build, release, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure the integrity and stability of production environments.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline and automate processes.
  • Resolve issues and ensure successful software delivery, including regular software upgrades.
  • Design, implement, and maintain build and deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to define release schedules and scope.
  • Coordinate and execute release activities, including actual deployment to production environments.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute monthly software upgrades.
  • Oversee the configuration and management of development, testing, and production environments.
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the release process.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for release engineering.
  • Assess risks associated with releases and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • Years of Experience: 12+ years
  • Proven experience in release engineering, software development, or DevOps roles.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (e.g., Grafana).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
