About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms
Manage software-defined networking and software-defined storage platforms
Support on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
Work across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu platforms
Automate platform operations and capacity management
Operate VMware platforms at enterprise scale
Troubleshoot compute, network, and storage layers
Apply operations discipline while supporting modern cloud-native workloads

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
6+ years of experience stated for the position
Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience
Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management
Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking
Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling
Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM
Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials preferred
Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE preferred
Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) preferred
Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations preferred
Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms preferred
