About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide legal counsel on corporate matters and assist clients with various legal issues.
Collaborate with the Outside GC team to deliver exceptional legal services.
Draft and negotiate AI-related contracts and provide guidance on AI governance frameworks.
Engage with clients to build strong relationships and understand their legal needs.
Keep up to date with technology transactions and data privacy standards.
Work in a flexible, remote environment as part of a dedicated team.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10+ years of corporate legal practice, including experience as an in-house attorney, serving as a General Counsel and/or in another senior in-house legal role and 3+ years of law firm training
Substantive legal experience as a broad corporate generalist
Demonstrated success as a practical, business-focused, and responsive legal partner
J.D. from a nationally accredited law school
State bar membership in state where reside/practice
Deep technology transactions experience (SaaS, cloud, software licensing, vendor/procurement deals); international experience helpful but not required
Strong practical AI literacy with foundation models, RAG, agents, training, fine-tuning, outputs, and feedback loops
Experience drafting and negotiating AI-related contract provisions such as data use, training rights, outputs, IP, confidentiality
Ability to advise on AI governance frameworks such as policies, intake workflows, risk tiering, vendor review
Background in enterprise software, AI/ML, cloud, data platforms, or digital media
A technical background (engineering, computer science, or equivalent exposure)
Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP)
Experience advising on data privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance in tech transactions
Semiconductor/chip/AI infrastructure experience (GPUs, hardware-software integration, supply chain, OEM deals) preferred but not required.
