About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide legal counsel on corporate matters and assist clients with various legal issues.
- Collaborate with the Outside GC team to deliver exceptional legal services.
- Draft and negotiate AI-related contracts and provide guidance on AI governance frameworks.
- Engage with clients to build strong relationships and understand their legal needs.
- Keep up to date with technology transactions and data privacy standards.
- Work in a flexible, remote environment as part of a dedicated team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 10+ years of corporate legal practice, including experience as an in-house attorney, serving as a General Counsel and/or in another senior in-house legal role and 3+ years of law firm training
- Substantive legal experience as a broad corporate generalist
- Demonstrated success as a practical, business-focused, and responsive legal partner
- J.D. from a nationally accredited law school
- State bar membership in state where reside/practice
- Deep technology transactions experience (SaaS, cloud, software licensing, vendor/procurement deals); international experience helpful but not required
- Strong practical AI literacy with foundation models, RAG, agents, training, fine-tuning, outputs, and feedback loops
- Experience drafting and negotiating AI-related contract provisions such as data use, training rights, outputs, IP, confidentiality
- Ability to advise on AI governance frameworks such as policies, intake workflows, risk tiering, vendor review
- Background in enterprise software, AI/ML, cloud, data platforms, or digital media
- A technical background (engineering, computer science, or equivalent exposure)
- Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP)
- Experience advising on data privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance in tech transactions
- Semiconductor/chip/AI infrastructure experience (GPUs, hardware-software integration, supply chain, OEM deals) preferred but not required.
