About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Genuine ownership — from concept phase to on-site commissioning.
Full technical responsibility, not just support tasks.
Create rather than manage — small, tight-knit team with short decision paths and no corporate bureaucracy.
Technically challenging projects — every machine is unique.
Contribute to PLC software architecture, assume technical responsibility and manage projects end-to-end.
Development, programming and commissioning of control systems for special-purpose machines.
Implementation of control strategies for pressure, temperature and other process parameters.
Creation and maintenance of HMI visualizations (e.g., WinCC, web HMI).
Integration of sensors, actuators and drive systems (e.g., Festo, KEB, Siemens).
Build and maintain modular software libraries in TIA Portal.
Optimization of existing applications and commissioning in-house and at customer sites.
Customer support remote/on-site; willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
Close cooperation with mechanical, electrical and process engineering.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed technical vocational training with further qualification as a state-certified technician or industrial foreman, or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or Mechatronics.
Several years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
Confident user of Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1500, ET200SP).
Knowledge of WinCC Advanced/Professional, PROFINET and drive technology (Festo/KEB).
Understanding of process flows in plastics or press technology.
Structured, solution-oriented and self-reliant work style.
