About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Development and enhancement of modern server-side Java applications
Design and implementation of solutions for document generation and document processing
Development and optimization of distributed and highly available enterprise applications
Development of web components and browser-based domain applications
Implementation of technical requirements based on Java 17+, Spring Boot 3 and modern frameworks
Creation and maintenance of document templates as well as layout and design components
Integration of existing systems and interfaces into complex application landscapes
Support for build, deployment and release processes in large enterprise environments
Execution of tests, code reviews and quality assurance measures
Preparation of technical documentation and support for architectural decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification, e.g., completed vocational training in application development with several years of professional experience
Several years of experience in developing Java enterprise applications with current technologies such as Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x
Demonstrable project experience in developing server-side applications based on Java SE and/or Java EE
Solid knowledge in developing modern web applications and very good knowledge of HTML
Experience in developing distributed and highly available applications within complex system landscapes
Knowledge of document generation and template technologies, ideally with Freemarker
Experience in designing and preparing documents, including layout and typography requirements
Experience with software provisioning and deployment processes in enterprise environments with separated responsibilities between development and operations
Structured, analytical and independent working style as well as strong team and communication skills
Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
