About the role
- Report to the VP of Corporate Marketing and oversee global external communications including PR, earned speaking, awards, executive visibility/thought leadership, financial communications, and organic social media
- Drive an integrated communications strategy incorporating media relations, earned speaking opportunities, awards, executive visibility, customer and partner activities, and creative PR programs that position Braze as a thought leader
- Influence, evolve, and amplify the company narrative for Braze public positioning, partnering closely with Marketing leadership and cross-functional teams
- Oversee development and production of communication materials such as press releases, contributed content, podcasts, speeches, presentations, and social media content
- Be a thought partner to Marketing and company leadership on PR and social priorities and market influencers
- Partner with Global Events & Content, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and other teams to identify trending topics and awareness channels
- Oversee global PR agencies and collaborate with regional marketing leaders to drive global consistency with local nuance across AMER, APAC, EMEA, and LATAM
- Work alongside Investor Relations and Securities Counsel on corporate disclosure, quarterly earnings, and review/release of material information
- Partner with social media agency on an active social media strategy across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and more
- Identify and manage potential communication risks and develop/implement crisis and rapid response communication plans
- Collaborate to determine success metrics across external communications and drive action through data-driven insights
- Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of managers and individual contributors
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, including internal and external comms
- At least 2 years leading and developing a team of comms professionals and agency relationships
- B2B SaaS experience required; ideally with experience at a public company or late-stage, high-growth startup
- Strong media relations skills and an existing network of relevant contacts across technology and business outlets
- Seasoned, empathetic leader who balances the needs of your team with the needs of the business
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft quality content on tight deadlines, adapting writing styles to match executives, company personality, and various audiences and formats
- Experience working with PR agencies and managing regional communications processes
- Experience partnering with Investor Relations and Securities Counsel on corporate disclosure and earnings communications
- Ability to work within commuting distance of New York City
