About the role

  • Manage and optimize benefits and HR operations in a fast-paced, fully remote environment
  • Manage the HR Operations and Payroll team and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, employee changes, and offboarding with an emphasis on positive employee experiences
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of HR data through audits, troubleshooting, and maintaining HR operating documentation
  • Manage payroll processing including tax set-up, reporting and compliance for multi-state payrolls
  • Drive HR projects focused on process automation and operational efficiency improvements
  • Oversee all health and welfare benefits programs, partnering with brokers to manage administration and compliance
  • Manage benefit enrollment, communications, and timely monthly reconciliations of benefits invoices
  • Work with Sr HR Business Partner to manage employee leaves and ensure compliance with federal and state laws
  • Maintain and enhance the performance management system and improve review processes and feedback forms
  • Ensure compliance with HR data privacy, security, and other regulatory requirements
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all HR systems through regular audits and verification processes
  • Provide leadership with data-driven insights and recommendations based on HR and benefits-related reports and metrics
  • Partner with internal teams to develop HR communications, training materials, and knowledge management tools

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR, specifically in benefits, HR operations, Payroll, and performance/leave management
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing and coaching professional level employees
  • Experience and a high-level of comfortability managing HR services in a high-growth, fast-paced remote environment (ideally in a startup), effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Experience managing benefits and leave administration in compliance with federal and state laws
  • Experience and comfort with multi-state payroll, tax set-up, reporting and compliance
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on process automation and operational efficiency
  • Proven track record of managing HRIS/HCM and performance management systems with a strong analytical and data-driven approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional relationship-building abilities, with experience working closely with senior leadership, employees, and external vendors
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), video platforms (Zoom, Google Meet)
  • Technologically savvy, with a passion for process improvements, exploring tools to improve automation and efficiency in HR operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
