About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as Project Manager for commissioning projects executing the firm’s scope, being responsible for communication, schedule, and technical delivery.
Provide quality assurance for building automated controls systems.
Provide documentation and coordination of commissioning activities with owners and construction teams.
Assist in conducting site visits and inspections to evaluate the performance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
Collaborate with senior commissioning engineers to develop commissioning plans, schedules, and checklists for different phases of the commissioning process.
Perform hands-on functional testing and verification of building systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications and industry standards.
Document and report any deficiencies or issues identified during the commissioning process, and work with the project team to resolve them.
Review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and submittals, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Assist in coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to facilitate the commissioning process.
Assist in preparing comprehensive commissioning reports and final documentation for project closeout.
Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and best practices related to building commissioning.
Participate in professional development opportunities and training to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Consult with clients to develop Owner’s Project Requirements.
Review construction documents and submittals of MEP systems.
Author commissioning plans, specifications, issues logs, meeting minutes, site observation reports, prefunctional checklists, functional performance tests, systems manuals, and final reports.
Manage kick-off, coordination, and conflict resolution meetings.
Conduct site visits for troubleshooting; static inspections; testing, adjusting, and balancing; functional testing; and owner training.
Cultivate effective relationships with clients, customers and contractors.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction management.
Strong interest in building systems and energy efficiency.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Extremely responsive and dedicated to meeting expectations.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam.
Ability to Travel.
