About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as Project Manager for commissioning projects executing the firm’s scope, being responsible for communication, schedule, and technical delivery.
  • Provide quality assurance for building automated controls systems.
  • Provide documentation and coordination of commissioning activities with owners and construction teams.
  • Assist in conducting site visits and inspections to evaluate the performance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
  • Collaborate with senior commissioning engineers to develop commissioning plans, schedules, and checklists for different phases of the commissioning process.
  • Perform hands-on functional testing and verification of building systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Document and report any deficiencies or issues identified during the commissioning process, and work with the project team to resolve them.
  • Review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and submittals, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to facilitate the commissioning process.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive commissioning reports and final documentation for project closeout.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and best practices related to building commissioning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and training to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Consult with clients to develop Owner’s Project Requirements.
  • Review construction documents and submittals of MEP systems.
  • Author commissioning plans, specifications, issues logs, meeting minutes, site observation reports, prefunctional checklists, functional performance tests, systems manuals, and final reports.
  • Manage kick-off, coordination, and conflict resolution meetings.
  • Conduct site visits for troubleshooting; static inspections; testing, adjusting, and balancing; functional testing; and owner training.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients, customers and contractors.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction management.
  • Strong interest in building systems and energy efficiency.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely responsive and dedicated to meeting expectations.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to Travel.
