About the role
- Design & Technical Delivery Lead and produce ICT system designs: structured cabling (ISP/OSP copper and fiber), horizontal distribution, telecom room layouts.
- Design and specify security systems including Access Control, Video Surveillance (CCTV/IP), and Intrusion Detection.
- Author complete construction document packages — schematic design through 100% CDs — including drawings, specifications, and basis-of-design narratives.
- Develop network topology diagrams and schematic interface documents supporting integrated ICT, AV, security, and smart building infrastructures (BMS, EMS, lighting).
- Perform construction administration: respond to RFIs, review submittals, support commissioning, and close-out.
- Conduct site surveys and existing condition assessments to inform design decisions.
- Produce deliverables in Revit and AutoCAD; proficiency in BIM coordination expected.
- Serve as a primary technical contact for clients across sectors, including education, healthcare, commercial, and civic.
- Lead project meetings, present design concepts, and translate technical requirements into compelling, client-ready narratives.
- Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, AV consultants, and general contractors to deliver seamlessly integrated solutions.
- Participate in business development activities, including RFP responses, client presentations, and market outreach upon request.
- Mentor junior designers and support a culture of continuous technical growth within the Technology group.
- Perform QA/QC review of ICT/security design documents.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and embed innovation deliberately, not just for novelty, but in service of better building performance.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of TIA/BICSI standards, IBC, NFPA, and relevant codes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in ICT and/or security systems design within an A/E consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing structured cabling (ISP/OSP), access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
- Proficiency in producing full construction document packages including drawings and specifications.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams (architects, MEP, structural).
- Strong client communication and presentation skills — comfort in front of a room is essential.
- Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD; Bluebeam Revu; Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, Telecommunications, or a closely related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
