About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Place direct purchase orders with suppliers and manage delivery
Generate purchase orders in accordance with company parameters
Ensure service and fill rate metrics are met for assigned supplier lines
Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend vendor-purchase actions to leadership
Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs
Monitor inventory levels and balance stock, cash flow, customer satisfaction, sales, and margin
Use the ERP system to analyze demand-planning data and recommend forecasting changes
Analyze daily Excel reports to improve backorders and fill rate
Monitor forecasting tools and adjust purchasing strategies
Manage procurement paths, including direct buying, transfers, and hub/spoke models
Initiate vendor returns and product transfers within the company network
Maintain supplier relationships and manage vendor interactions, purchase orders, and agreements
Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with Purchasing Leadership and Merchandising to resolve issues
Develop alternative supplier sources to mitigate risk
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations
Maintain accurate purchase, contract, and supplier records
Collaborate with operations, merchandising, finance, and other departments

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least three years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including management of lines and vendors
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Industry-specific experience or product knowledge (preferred but not required)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Keen attention to detail
