About the role
- Design, develop, and implement 3D applications and graphics tools for the project
- Develop features and capabilities for rendering pipelines and mesh processing
- Create 3D models for integration into rendered environments
- Develop graphics tools using Python and C/C++ and 3D APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, CGAL, Blender, and Unity
- Work closely with a small team to design, code, review, and test software features optimized for laptop and desktop platforms
- Monitor scientific literature for innovations that can be adapted for project use cases
- Manage code through GIT and utilize GitHub for collaboration
- Use Linux and Windows command line tools and IDEs such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
- Meet deadlines and adhere to budgetary guidelines
- Present work and communicate progress to stakeholders
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Minimum of 1 year of professional development experience
- Appointment requires a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Game Design, Game Art or a relevant technical field, or equivalent years of experience
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing 3D applications using technologies such as OpenGL, Vulkan, CGAL
- Experience with 3D computer graphics APIs and tools such as Blender and Unity
- Understanding of modeling, lighting, and shading hard surface models using polygonal and parametric tools
- Expertise in Python and C/C++
- Experience creating 3D models for integration into a rendered environment
- Knowledge of render engines and shader algorithms
- Experience recommending strategies and developing features/capabilities for new rendering pipelines and mesh
- Code management experience with GIT and GitHub
- Familiarity with XML
- Command line usage of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
- Deep understanding of geometric surface definitions for polygonal surfaces, parametric surfaces, implicit surfaces, and point clouds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
