About the role
- Establish and own the QA department, processes, and standards
- Design and implement test strategies across multiple applications (web + mobile)
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and QA documentation
- Build and manage automation frameworks for regression and critical flows
- Implement bug tracking, triage, and reporting workflows
- Partner with engineering to integrate QA into CI/CD pipelines
- Define release quality gates and acceptance criteria
- Evaluate and implement modern QA tools (AI-assisted testing, automation, etc.)
- Set up intake processes, QA workflows, and testing environments
- Perform hands-on testing when needed (manual + automated)
Requirements
- Experience building or scaling a QA function from scratch
- Strong experience with test planning, test case design, and QA processes
- Experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
- Experience testing web applications and APIs
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear)
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development workflows
- Ability to define and enforce quality standards across teams
