Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development of embedded real-time software for avionics
  • Oversee software design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance for embedded devices and systems
  • Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs
  • Oversee embedded systems software code reviews for specialized hardware
  • Oversee integration of embedded software with hardware components
  • Monitor and improve embedded software efficiency and stability
  • Review software testing and debugging for embedded devices and systems
  • Research and implement emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes
  • Provide consultation on software and hardware integration
  • Track and evaluate internal and supplier software team performance for product and process compliance
  • Oversee embedded software project management functions
  • Develop kernel and user-mode drivers for Linux and real-time operating systems
  • Define, develop, and debug hardware/software interfaces for avionics systems
  • Derive and allocate requirements with lifecycle traceability
  • Integrate software on emulated and target hardware
  • Develop and execute automated test strategies for safety-critical software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start required
  • U.S. Person status required for export control compliance
  • 10+ years of experience leading software development
  • 10+ years of experience leading or supporting trade studies, business case development, work transfers, and/or statement of work management
  • 10+ years of experience developing and implementing automated test strategies
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles driving developer productivity or DevSecOps adoption
  • Working knowledge of VS Code, Git, Markdown, YAML, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps
  • Experience with software architecture and design methodologies
  • Experience debugging, integrating, and testing software in emulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments
  • Experience identifying software vulnerabilities and implementing effective security measures
  • Understanding of secure boot, encryption, and key management
  • Experience with general and real-time software development and testing tools
  • Experience with cross compilers, target debuggers, and test/performance instrumentation
  • Experience with real-time software domains and products
  • Must complete a technical assessment
