About the role
- Monitors network performance to identify potential problems.
- Performs network preventative maintenance tasks such as installing patches.
- Identifies root causes of network issues and provides resolution.
- Configures and maintains network infrastructure such as routers, switches, firewalls and security devices.
- Designs, installs, and upgrades network components in support of operations and modernization.
- Supports backup and recovery plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering principles
- Experience with hands on support of IT Hardware such as setting up, configuring, modifying and troubleshooting switches, routers, network equipment, high performance computing equipment, and server racks
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Experience with Ground Systems Maintenance and Modernization (preferred)
- Experience with virtual Ground station hardware (preferred)
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence (preferred)
- Active network engineering certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+ (preferred)
