About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work directly with a mentor to solve real-world problems
- Evaluate employee work in factories and office environments to identify ergonomic risks
- Help develop solutions to reduce or eliminate ergonomic stressors
- Assist with implementing tooling, technology, and process improvements
- Gain hands-on experience sampling workplace chemical and physical hazards
- Analyze industrial hygiene data and help develop exposure-reduction solutions
- Evaluate health and safety risks and maintain regulatory compliance
- Support environmental disciplines including air quality, storm water, hazardous waste, solid waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, and underground storage tanks
- Support conservation and sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks during summer; 12 weeks preferred
- Currently enrolled at a college or university
- Expected graduation date on or after August 2027
- US Person status required under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15
- Employer will not sponsor employment visas
- Majoring in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Safety, Sustainability, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
- Strong academic performance with GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
- Previous internships, work experience, or involvement with student or civic organizations preferred
- Passion for the aerospace industry preferred
- Ability to relocate and work onsite preferred
- Computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
