About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with a mentor to solve real-world problems
Evaluate employee work in factories and office environments to identify ergonomic risks
Help develop solutions to reduce or eliminate ergonomic stressors
Assist with implementing tooling, technology, and process improvements
Gain hands-on experience sampling workplace chemical and physical hazards
Analyze industrial hygiene data and help develop exposure-reduction solutions
Evaluate health and safety risks and maintain regulatory compliance
Support environmental disciplines including air quality, storm water, hazardous waste, solid waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, and underground storage tanks
Support conservation and sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks during summer; 12 weeks preferred
Currently enrolled at a college or university
Expected graduation date on or after August 2027
US Person status required under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15
Employer will not sponsor employment visas
Majoring in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Safety, Sustainability, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
Strong academic performance with GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
Previous internships, work experience, or involvement with student or civic organizations preferred
Passion for the aerospace industry preferred
Ability to relocate and work onsite preferred
Computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
