About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support product quality assurance across design, manufacturing, and production systems
  • Support implementation of quality principles, processes, and metrics to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction
  • Support quality readiness assessments and product maturity validation through data analysis and risk mitigation planning
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action, and statistical process control
  • Help develop, review, and maintain Quality Management System documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with design risk analysis, verification planning, and quality inspections
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure suppliers meet Boeing quality requirements
  • Support supplier capability assessments, process validations, and quality system audits
  • Assist with sampling plans and First Article Inspections to verify supplier product conformance
  • Participate in corrective actions related to supplier nonconformance and drive supplier quality improvements
  • Communicate engineering requirements with suppliers and internal teams
  • Support Supplier Control Audits and supplier performance metric tracking
  • Work with a mentor to solve real-world safety and quality problems
  • Tour Boeing manufacturing and research facilities
  • Interact with company leaders and attend networking, development, and executive events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university with expected graduation on or after August 2027
  • Available to work full-time for 10–12 weeks during Summer 2027
  • Must meet Export Control compliance as a U.S. Person: U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Employer will not sponsor employment visa status
  • Preferred: major in an engineering or applied sciences discipline, including aerospace, civil, chemical, computer, electrical, industrial, materials, mechanical, manufacturing, mathematics, physics, software, structural, quality, operations research, engineering mechanics, or systems
  • Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Preferred: previous internships, work experience, or student/civic organization involvement demonstrating leadership and teamwork
  • Preferred: passion for the aerospace industry and eagerness to contribute to Boeing’s mission
  • Preferred: junior or senior class standing
  • Preferred: willingness to relocate and work onsite at designated locations
  • Knowledge of quality management principles, quality planning, process mapping, quality documentation, quality standards compliance, and cost of quality analysis
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, corrective and preventive actions, data collection, sampling, statistical analysis, and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of process capability measurement, design and analysis of experiments, and risk assessment/mitigation
  • Supplier quality knowledge, including root cause corrective action, problem solving, data analytics, project management, supply chain, and customer/supplier relationship management
  • Experience or knowledge with Git, SQL/database querying, Python, Tableau, Power BI, R, ReactJS/JavaScript, systems mapping, and simulations
