About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work directly with a mentor to solve real-world problems
- Evaluate employee work in factory and office environments to identify ergonomic risks
- Develop solutions to reduce or eliminate ergonomic stressors
- Gain hands-on industrial hygiene sampling experience in varied environments
- Analyze industrial hygiene data and help develop exposure-reduction solutions
- Evaluate health and safety risks and maintain regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with EHS and engineering teams on tooling, technology, and process changes
- Support airplane programs and/or Boeing Defense, Space, and Security operations
- Work across environmental disciplines including air quality, storm water, hazardous waste, solid waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, and underground storage tanks
- Support conservation, sustainability, and regulatory-compliance initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks during summer; 12 weeks preferred
- Start work in May or June, with flexibility depending on school schedule
- Currently enrolled at a college or university
- Expected graduation date on or after August 2027
- Majoring in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Safety, Sustainability, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Strong academic performance preferred, with GPA of 3.0 or above
- Previous internships, work experience, and/or involvement with student or civic organizations preferred
- Passion for the aerospace industry and interest in a career with Boeing preferred
- Ability to relocate and work onsite preferred
- Computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel
