About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up and operate power-operated NC-controlled tube benders
  • Inspect, pressure test, clean, vapor degrease, swage, square, deburr, mark, finish, trim, cut, identify, mask, cap, preserve, and apply color identification to tubes
  • Install Wiggins, Dynatube, DME, Gamah, Ringlok, Perma Swage, Cryofit, Sierracin Harrison, and AN fittings
  • Perform end-form operations including sizing, veiling, beading, shrinking, saddling, flaring, expanding, and reducing
  • Route and trial-fit tubes on aircraft and mock-ups to determine tube size and shape
  • Perform sheet metal fabrication, spray painting, welding, chemical processing, plating, hand/machine sewing, composite fabrication, layup, drilling, and repair as needed
  • Assemble precision and prototype assemblies
  • Set up and operate ream fixtures for drilling, reaming, countersinking, spot-facing, honing, and boring
  • Perform engineering tests of production parts and equipment with design, industrial engineering, and production operations
  • Partner with design to modify and fabricate tools, parts, and prototype tooling
  • Inspect tools periodically for repair
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain documentation for design, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, tooling, equipment, and calibration
  • Bench-assemble electrical or electronic components into assemblies and systems
  • Machine new and replacement parts for precision-built tools and machine parts
  • Apply paint, fill/fair, and special coatings
  • Manage daily work schedules, coordinate team communication, participate in team meetings, and commit to team goals and metrics
  • Initiate process improvements and implement lean best practices
  • Work any assigned shift and travel up to 10%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience with tubing and ducting manufacturing, installation, or maintenance
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and work to blueprints, visual aids, work instructions, and process specifications
  • Experience with detailed work instructions or interpreting blueprints and drawings preferred
  • CNC machine operation experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, equipment, measuring instruments, tube benders, coordinate measuring machines, band saws, manual benders, swaging machines, pressure test benches, vapor degreasers, micrometers, protractors, and calipers
  • Ability to work any assigned shift
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must satisfy Boeing’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Subject to post-offer drug and alcohol testing when policy criteria are met
  • Must live in the immediate area or relocate at own expense
