About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Primary work location is at a supplier’s facility.
- Under general supervision, plans, organizes and leads audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products.
- Documents and reports key supplier metrics, audit and assessment results to leadership and stakeholders.
- Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
- Evaluates and develops improvement plans for key suppliers.
- Resolves routine issues and concerns.
- Analyzes supplier’s key performance indices and identifies areas of improvement.
- Establishes Inspection Plan for supplier’s products and perform inspection.
- Establish Surveillance Plan for supplier’s Quality Management and Production System and performs surveillance.
- Performs follow-up on audit and assessment findings.
- Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements and documents findings.
- Ensures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed.
- Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.
- Provides technical expertise on specific manufacturing processes to suppliers.
- Investigates and resolves routine issues to ensure supplier compliance to established requirements.
- Monitors quality, delivery, work in process, systemic issues and program impacts to determine needed corrective actions and improvements to supplier performance.
- Interprets routine requirements and resolves supplier issues and concerns.
- Leads preventive activities as well as corrective action activities with suppliers to address the root cause of quality escapes.
- Drives the implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers to shift quality approach from detection to prevention.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 or more years' related work experience.
- Business level English (Written and Spoken)
- Bachelor’s in Engineering Degree preferred
- Quality Systems/Standards: Knowledge of quality systems, for example, Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100), Requirements for Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process (AS9145).
- Business level of Japanese (Written and Spoken)
