About the role
- Design, implement, and maintain robust network systems and digital connectivity solutions for aerospace projects
- Translate concepts and high-level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications, including physical integration of electrical systems into airplanes
- Develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements and hardware/software interface specifications
- Coordinate with suppliers on development of hardware, software and interface specifications and monitor supplier performance
- Test and validate system designs through laboratory and airplane testing; participate in flight test evaluation of connectivity and network systems
- Work across product lifecycle from initial concept through certification, delivery, and production life
- Participate in airplane installation designs and certification efforts for Network and Digital Connectivity Systems
- Engage with airline customers to understand intended use and develop operational use cases
- Utilize Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to develop architecture mapping and simulated test environments
- Develop and execute detailed, integrated test procedures/plans and define/configure lab setups for testing
- Create software scripts to support and/or automate testing procedures and analysis
- Evaluate performance, reliability, and stability of connectivity IP links (wired or wireless)
- Research technology advances for potential application and solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over product lifecycle
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (Basic Qualification)
- 1+ years of experience working in an electrical design engineering environment (Basic Qualification)
- US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) required for Export Control compliance
- Must be able to work 100% onsite at Everett or Seattle, WA
- 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
- Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree (Preferred)
- Experience within Electrical Systems hardware and software design (Preferred)
- Experience in systems engineering involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification (Preferred)
- Familiarity with engineering processes and methods (Preferred)
- Knowledge of FAA certification (Preferred)
- Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program (Preferred)
- Experience working with cross functional teams (Preferred)
- Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment (Preferred)
- Experience with Model Based Development tools / Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) (Preferred)
- Experience with Linux/UNIX OS (Preferred)
- Experience in computer networking systems, with ability to troubleshoot and debug aerospace software and hardware environments (Preferred)
- Willingness to undergo post-offer drug testing as part of Drug Free Workplace policy
