About the role
- Support development and maintenance of electrical bonding and grounding build processes, design requirements, materials, and hardware performance through existing and development airplane programs
- Collaborate with engineers in materials and process (M&P), finishes, corrosion control, composites, fasteners and other systems engineering disciplines to integrate bonding and grounding methodologies
- Design, perform, and analyze necessary testing for bonding and grounding solutions
- Evaluate and select verification strategies for the bonding and grounding approach
- Communicate procedures to perform electrical continuity checks to design organizations using electrical bonding resistance meters
- Support sustained work statements to ensure electrical bonding guidance is given by affected business units
- Promote standardization of bonding and grounding design methodologies, processes and parts
- Review and approve engineering bonding and grounding designs and validate compliance to B&G owned requirements for protection against personnel shock and flammable vapor ignition
- Perform airplane bonding and grounding validation testing and failure analysis on in-service bond and ground problems
- Review and approve post-production maintenance processes and requirements
- Work across different functional teams to find solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of industry experience in aerospace systems electrical bonding design and verification
- Proficient in Electrical Circuit Analysis
- Ability to work 100% onsite at Everett and Renton, WA
- Must meet export control compliance (U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15)
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
- Ability to obtain an EB&G DAE role within 12 months
- Experience with Boeing engineering drawings, Boeing specification and BAC5117 Bonding and Grounding Processes (preferred)
- Experience with Verification and Validation of Bonding and Grounding Requirements (preferred)
- Equipment installation design background (preferred)
- Familiarity with Title 14 CFR Part 25 regulations listed (preferred)
- Experience with CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, IVT (preferred)
- Knowledge of Electrical Power System and Electrical Shock Hazards (preferred)
- Knowledge of application and removal of sealants, primers, topcoats, conversion coatings, and corrosion control (preferred)
- Knowledge of bonding and grounding LRU Analysis Packages and performing Ohm’s Law calculations (preferred)
- Experience working across engineering disciplines, airline customers and suppliers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Subject to post-offer drug testing (Drug Free Workplace)
